4th ANNUAL ‘12buy12’ EXHIBIT AT AUSTIN ART SPACE GALLERY
TO SHOWCASE 95 WORKS FROM 34 ARTISTS

-- Dec. 5 Opening With Artists’ Reception Kicks-Off Run Through Dec. 20 --

Austin, TX, December 1, 2008 – Continuing a tradition from Austin Art Space’s predecessor,
Artspoken, the new gallery will host the 4th Annual “12buy12” Show. The traditional event is a juried
exhibition and sale of art no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches created by artists from Texas, the U.S
and around the world. The intent is to present more accessible art appropriate for holiday gift giving,
personal enjoyment and newer collectors. The title of the exhibit plays on the dimensional limits and the
affordability of smaller size.

This year the exhibit encompasses oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolor, mixed media and photography from
34 different artists from as far away as New York, Alaska and New Zealand. All told, 95 pieces will be
on display. All patrons are welcome to attend the special Opening Artists’ Reception on Friday,
December 5, 6:00pm-9:00pm with the vast majority of the artists expected to be on hand to discuss their
work. The show continues during regular gallery hours throughout the Christmas season, ending on
December 20.

Valerie Walden, the manager of the Austin Art Space collective observed, “The ‘12buy12’ show has
traditionally been one of Artspoken’s most popular exhibits. We are pleased to celebrate that heritage
and expand on it.”

The large number of artists and the diversity of their work almost guarantee that patrons can find
something that appeals to them. Historically, hundreds of people attend the reception and exhibit over
the three weekends. All pieces are offered for sale with many available for immediate fulfillment.
