ARTSPOKEN GALLERY & STUDIOS ANNOUNCES
                            NEW RESIDENT ARTIST, VALERIE WALDEN

                                          -- Artists-In-Residence Now Total Five --

Austin, TX, July 30, 2007 – As part of an on-going program to expand and enhance the gallery’s
offerings, Artspoken has added emerging artist Valerie Walden to their enclave. Karen Harton, director
of Artspoken, said: “Valerie’s work in pastels and watercolors is an ideal complement to the oils,
acrylics and mixed media of our other artists. We are delighted that Valerie decided to join us as a
resident artist.” Artists-in-residence at Artspoken receive working studio space and exhibit some of
their work in the gallery portion of the facility. A total of five artists now hold permanent space there.

Most recently, Valerie Walden’s work was featured in the juried show, “Where the Wild Things Are” at
the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Ms. Walden said’ “I was particularly attracted to the high
level of creative energy at Artspoken and their commitment to exposing art to a wide variety of audiences
in the community. As an artist, you want your work to be seen. It seems there is always something
happening here.”

In keeping with that visibility, Artspoken hosted a welcome reception and exhibit of Ms. Walden’s recent
paintings on June 22. The show featured a set of watercolors from the artist’s recent trip to Sicily,
collected works in pastels from Bamberger Ranch, and interpretive nudes from her “Impressions Left
Behind” series. The select crowd that gathered chose several of the pieces and commissioned
additional works.

Ms. Harton noted, “Valerie’s was one of the most successful first-shows we have ever had at the gallery.
The patrons’ appreciation and enthusiasm were clearly evident”.  Ms. Walden added, “This was a terrific
opportunity. The understanding and acceptance of my vision is truly enlivens my work.”

Selected works by Ms. Walden and the other artists-in-residence are on display every Friday and
Saturday noon-4:00 PM, and by appointment.
