VALERIE WALDEN PAINTING SET FOR AUCTION TO BENEFIT AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
-- 2nd Annual 'Find Your Heart in Art' Event on Nov. 1 --
Austin, TX, September 21, 2007 – Valerie Walden is among artists chosen to participate in Austin’s second annual ‘Find Your Heart in Art’ charity event for the American Heart Association. A total of 74 artists have been invited to participate because 74 is the number of women in Texas that die every day from heart disease. All the work will be auctioned off at the event to be held at The Design Center of Austin in Pennfield on the evening of November 1.
Valerie Walden observed, “It’s a pleasure to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause and expand the appreciation for art in the Austin community at the same time. The painting I’ve done is specific to Austin in title and theme. I believe in the Heart Association's work and I'm looking forward to attending the event.” Ms. Walden has donated a pastel from her new ‘Sun Sets’ Series entitled ‘Steering to Orange” which may be reviewed in advance here.
The festive event features live music by Alibi; a special dance performance by KDH Dance Company and additional entertainment by Japanese Butoh performance artist Carolyn Sutton. Advance tickets and more information are available here.
