VALERIE WALDEN SELECTED FOR
                       WATERLOO WATERCOLOR GROUP JURIED SHOW

                                    -- 30th Annual Member Exhibit Runs April 6-May 4  --

Austin, TX, April 2, 2008 – Valerie Walden will be among the 30 artists presenting work at Austin's
Waterloo Watercolor Group Show.  Two of Ms. Walden's pieces will be on display: "Spinazolla", an
island off the coast of Sicily, and "Before The Storm", depicting the Maine coastline.

Ms. Walden said, "I hadn't entered a watercolor-only show before, so I'm especially pleased that my work
was judged and recognized alongside my peers. This is the second juried exhibit I've participated in so far
this year. "

The comprehensive exhibit was juried by Skip Lawrence, AWS, NWS, nationally recognized
watercolor artist and teacher. The Maryland-based Mr. Lawrence conducts numerous workshops around
the country and has published a collection of educational videos.

All work will be on display from April 6 to May 4 at North Hills Gallery, 7050 Village Center Drive,
Austin, Texas. Gallery hours are Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, Sunday 8:30am-12:30pm, closed Saturday.
Admission is free. The artist's reception is scheduled for for April 13, 12:30-2:00pm.

About Valerie Walden
Valerie Walden developed her talent with inspiration and guidance from artists and instructors at the
Austin Museum of Art, University of Texas and the Scottsdale Artists’ School. She works primarily
in pastels and in watercolor, but has occasionally been known to mix the two. Her work draws heavily
upon her interpretations and impressions of nature. She is a member of the Austin Visual Arts
Association, the Waterloo Watercolor Society, Austin Pastel Society and the Southwest Pastel
