LOCAL ARTIST VALERIE WALDEN WIDENS EXPOSURE WITH POSTINGS ON iTAGGIT WEBSITE
-- Austin-Based Collectors' Website Draws National Attention--
Austin, TX, August 23, 2007 – Expanding her representation beyond Artspoken Gallery and her own website, www.waldenart.com, Valerie Walden has begun posting a selected group of paintings on the new special-purpose site iTaggit, www.itaggit.com. Ms. Walden explained it by saying, “Although technology can make it relatively easy, I’m reluctant to display my work all over cyberspace. But, this new site looks to be reaching a hip audience of legitimate collectors who are in a position to appreciate an emerging artist like me.”
iTaggit, is a Web 2.0 site based in Austin that was launched in January 2007 by David Altounian with venture capital backing. The site offers a full compliment of tools to allow users to catalog, display, discuss and trade their collections of just about anything. Users may also interact through forums and blogs, as well as access research tools such as auction and shopping websites. The site has grown exponentially to include a vast array of items from fine art and dolls to vintage lunch boxes and music genres from around the world.
Ms. Walden’s series’ “Impressions Left Behind” and “Sun Sets 2” are presented in the public gallery under her name. Because the site does not include prices, they are available upon request.
